Highgate International Chamber Music Festival includes six performances from distinguished chamber musicians in one of Highgate’s beautiful churches (Fri 3rd – Sun 5th December 2021).

The festival welcomes a number of world-renowned artists this year, including Alina Ibragimova MBE [pictured], Julian Bliss, Isata Kanneh-Mason, Nicholas Daniel OBE, Robert Cohen, Alec Frank-Gemmill, Wu Qian andFestival Directors Ashok Klouda, Natalie Klouda and Irina Botan.

They will explore masterworks of the repertoire alongside lesser-known gems, and in combinations of performers that simply cannot be heard anywhere else.

Festival Co-Director and Founder Ashok Klouda comments: “Like many organisations around the country, we were sadly unable to hold live events in 2020. We are therefore thrilled to be bringing live music-making back to Highgate this year, with an extraordinary group of artists joining us to perform this highly varied programme of chamber music.”

Highlights of the 2021 festival include:
– Acclaimed clarinettist Julian Bliss leads a performance of Coleridge-Taylor’s Quintet in F-sharp minor for Clarinet and Strings, Op.10 (Fri 3rd Dec)- An exploration of neglected composers of Jewish origins, including Weinberg’s Aria Op.9 and Capriccio Op.11 for String Quartet, and Robert Kahn’s Quintet in C minor, Op. 54 for clarinet, horn, violin, cello and piano (Sat 4th Dec)
– An all-star team of Nicholas Daniel, Ashok Klouda and Isata Kanneh-Mason perform Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata in D, Op.94  arranged for oboe, cello and piano (Sun 5th Dec)
– The festival finale, featuring Mendelssohn’s stunning String Quintet No.2 in B flat, Op. 87 (Sun 5th Dec)
