Dipping in, it sounds terrific, very clear, well-balanced, and the presentation – including programme note, synopsis, and complete libretto – is handsome. It’s a great opera, too. LPO – 0124 (3 CDs).

    This concert was the greatest joy after all the lockdowns to open the RFH season; it deserves to sell in thousands. Incredible that there is only one other recording (apart for the live premiere with intrusive voice-over).
