For the first time ever, and exclusive to Apple Music and Apple Music Classical, a multi-language track-by-track commentary is available to accompany Genshin Impact’s recent album, The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 5.
Genshin Impact fans can redeem a special offer of up to three months to enjoy Apple Music and Apple Music Classical.
As part of the new partnership, a multi-language track-by-track commentary is now available exclusively on Apple Music Classical. In The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 5, commentary is voiced by the original voice actors from the game of beloved character Aether [Paimon in Chinese] as he [she in Chinese] guides listeners through music from Genshin Impact’s Versions 5.6 to 5.8, including many tracks from Version 5.8’s summer-themed map expansion.
Meanwhile, in celebration of Genshin Impact’s fifth anniversary on September 28, 2025, Apple Music and Apple Music Classical have prepared limited-time free membership for Genshin Impact players, starting September 29, 12:00 (UTC+8). More details are available on the event page: https://geni.us/classical-offer
The original Genshin Impact music is produced by HOYO-MiX, the in-house music studio of Genshin Impact’s developer. The game is set in the vast fantasy world of Teyvat consisting of diverse regions, each with a dedicated musical theme and multiple soundtrack collections that evoke the history, culture, landscapes, and ongoing adventure of that area. Built on orchestral foundations, the music of Genshin Impact combines elements of music from around the world to depict the variety of the regions and peoples of Teyvat.
The track-by-track commentary guides listeners throughout the journey and highlights include the in-game battle taking place on a giant chessboard, pitting players against a King and Queen. The first phase of the battle features brisk orchestral swells punctuated by spirited piano tunes, the playful staccato mirroring the King’s rapid assault in tandem with his army of chess pieces, giving a dash of whimsy to the fight as opposed to other, more typically grandiose and oppressive battle themes. In the second phase, both the King and Queen enter the fray and the music introduces a dialogue between tenor and soprano vocals. Notably, if players defeat the King first, the tenor line vanishes from the score. Likewise, eliminating the Queen first silences the soprano.
