Statement from Jeremy Gray and Gilly French, Artistic Directors of Bampton Classical Opera:
“We are saddened that the newly-announced November lockdown prevents us from performing or recording Gluck’s The Crown this coming Friday. Although we understand the need for action, our thoughts are very much with our singers and players at this difficult time as well as with our audiences currently unable to enjoy live music. We are determined that this gem of an opera, whose theme of hope in adversity seems so appropriate to the current situation, will be performed and we will announce a spring date as soon as possible.”
