On Thursday and Friday this week (August 13 & 14) in Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal, Daniel Barenboim will conduct members of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in concerts “dedicated to the Lebanese people and the victims of the Beirut explosion.” The repertoire embraces Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge, Boulez’s Mémoriale, Schoenberg’s First Chamber Symphony and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll.
