A considerable loss of income to the BBC – paying orchestra, conductor and soloists for two concerts that didn’t happen, plus travel costs and hotels, refunds to two sellout audiences including those who pay at the door to stand. Surely the concerts could have taken place and with no accusations of disrespect.
