I listened to every Prom, or at least I started them all.

That’s all folks!
Colin, having near-single-handedly reviewed this entire past Prom season, pertinently attentive, wise in opinion, you deserve an award. A heroic undertaking. It’s been a pleasure and instruction reading your words. Thank you.
All your readers are grateful to you, though it is sad to assume you are still not well enough to attend concerts: if that might be possible in the future, I do hope that you might be able to soon. If not, then at least we live in an age when live music can come to our homes in acceptable sound. Very best wishes, Peter
Very good choices. It was a mixed season in terms of performances and new music. I have just been watching BBC4’s proms round-up: superficial presentation and some disappointing performances, especially Nimrod and Zadok the Priest. Mark Elder’s conducting of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice was good though, but some BBC philistine cut the opening couple of minutes!!! Disgraceful. I switched off.
I switched off too.
