Thanks Rob. On this LSO occasion I was at home listening to the live R3 broadcast, absorbing something special. But I had been at the RFH a few days earlier for Celi conducting the LSO in Stravinsky, Debussy (Ibéria) and Brahms’s Fourth Symphony. Following the time-stretching, mind-bending Debussy I walked round the RFH in a state of wonderment at what I had just heard. Music, what it is, and how far it can go, had been redefined.
