PRESS RELEASE
14 March 2021
Dear Bruckner-friends:
Corona-Measurements and Lockdowns continue to make most orchestral performances impossible in most countries of the world. The more we are grateful for an upcoming streaming concert of Bruckner’s Ninth, including the Premiere of the SPCM Finale (2012) in Hungary. (A CD production of this is planned, but not yet fully confirmed.)
It is performed next week by the Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ivan Fischer, in the Budapest Congress Center.

We would be happy if you let your Bruckner friends know about this event and circulate this information.
With warm regards,
Dr. Benjamin-Gunnar Cohrs
for the Finale Authorial Team
I have been involved with a finale reconstruction by Nors S. Josephson whose finale was performed by the Ealing SO under John Gibbons. We then recorded the whole symphony on the Danacord label with the Aarhus SO.
There are now a number of completions and recordings not least one by Simon Rattle. All are interesting and together make a case for hearing this towering masterpiece in its completed form.
