What an excellent review from Richard Whitehouse. As perceptive as ever.
I totally agree with his view on The Return ; it was very silky and sleek suited to a national hero. No rushing their fences.
If memory serves me right our maestra performed The Lemminkainen Suite on her first appearance with the orchestra which must have made a tremendous impact as she was virtually hired on the spot I seem to recall.
As to the serene beauty of The Swan today I received from B&H a new adapted score for English Horn and Organ.
If there are any players interested let me know please. The combination should work well I think.
It was a fine concert from a well motivated team.
