Ted Sperling conducts a program featuring music by iconic composers, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, ranging from Bernstein to Caroline Shaw and luminaries of Broadway and the American songbook. Joining the Orchestra are vocalists Jenn Colella, Noah J. Ricketts (in his New York Philharmonic debut), and the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, directed by John J. Atorino.
The inaugural New York Philharmonic Celebrate Pride! concert — which will be held annually, including next year, on June 26, 2027, conducted by Marin Alsop — reflects the Orchestra’s ongoing commitment to inclusion; solidarity with LGBTQ+ communities, which has also included the establishment of the New York Philharmonic Pride Alliance in 2024; and deepening engagement with the diverse cultural tapestry of New York City.
