Sergiu Celibidache (1912-96)
It has come to my attention (somewhat late) that a film about the great if (for some) controversial conductor Sergiu Celibidache has been planned, and, if the schedule was stuck to, is now completed. It’s entitled The Yellow Tie and is directed and co-scripted by Celi’s son Serge Ioan Celibidachi [sic]. Rupert Friend plays the younger Celi and John Malkovich takes over to play the maestro later in life.

Playing him in his later years will be a challenging and fascinating journey.”
