This performance has done the rounds of the conductor’s fans, starting with an unsanctioned release in Japan.

    David Matthews has recently written about his views on this performance of Sib 5. He is astonished at the bravado in choice of tempi, some slow then speeding up etc. The coda to the first movement rivals in speed that by Kajanus. He regards the finale as a completion worthy of the best available.
    We then moved on to discuss Celi in En Saga!!!
