The violin solos are not credited, but may be by Lorenz Nasturica-Herschcowici, the Munich Philharmonic’s concertmaster 1992-2022. Although those years don’t square with this performance, perhaps Celibidache asked him to guest-lead, and later, as music director, he would appoint his fellow-Romanian (born 1962) to the role. Pure speculation on my part.
A glorious Celibidache Strauss Ein Heldenleben. Munich Philharmonic; February or March 1983. Slightly iffy sound (balances suggest maybe recorded from behind the orchestra by an audience member).

Celibidache’s conception of ‘Ein Heldenleben’ is indeed glorious. Over the course of 55 minutes he and his Munich players deliver an extremely vivid reading of the score, notable for its sense of unity as well as for each individual incident being ‘painted’ with masterly brushstrokes. Glorious, too, is the playing of the Munich band. This has to be heard.
