Due to an acute arm injury, Daniil Trifonov has unfortunately had to cancel his participation in the Berliner Philharmoniker‘s traditional Waldbühne concert on 25 June under the baton of chief conductor Kirill Petrenko.

Kirill Gerstein will stand in for Daniil Trifonov. He will perform Rachmaninov’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in C minor op. 18, with which he made his acclaimed debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2016. This leaves the programme unchanged. The Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko are very grateful to Kirill Gerstein for being able to step in at such short notice.

The concert at the Waldbühne is completely sold out. However, it is possible to follow the evening live in the Digital Concert Hall, on rbb television, on 3sat (broadcast begins at 20.15) or on the radio at rbbKultur (broadcast begins at 20.03). The German broadcaster Das Erste will show a recording of the concert on 2 July (start: 21.45).
