Funny really. I always thought Jean Martinon to be a mainstream uncontroversial conductor until I read recently he was fired from the CSO for performing too much contemporary music little of which seems to have surfaced on record at least.
A similar fate to that of Stokowski in Philadelphia but very different conductors. I love them both.
