Yesterday Megan and I were entranced watching Swan Lake on BBC 4.
The corps de ballet executed their routines in superb style and the two Principals were in perfect harmony with each other.
It rivalled any of the Swan Lakes I saw on my three St Petersburg’s visits earlier this century. And they were all superb as expected.
It was held at the RAH and the tv production was spot on.
Easy to dismiss this event as a crowd pleaser but whoever was there experienced an event of huge achievement even if they did not know! In my humble opinion anyway.
Well done the beeb and the house, all conducted by the veteran, Gavin Sutherland
