Although there are a few entries prior to April 5 last year, I count that date as the official start to my Column – when, having had two stays in hospital and a hip-replacement operation, I finally felt ready to be an earnest blogger.
Wishing to be as up-to-date as possible with a few stats, at the time of writing this (close to midnight) the Column currently has 2,058 Posts (a nice mix of things I hope) that have attracted 120,902 Visits (my numerous visits – for posting purposes and admin – are ignored and therefore not included in that tally) and 859 welcome Comments.
Thank-you dear readers for your continuing patronage.
Regards, Colin
Happy birthday ‘Col’!
I’ll have a slice of cake later!
Congratulations, always interesting, much news and carefully chosen repertoire for CD reviews. We can now easily remember your launch initiation day because this birthdate correponds with that of Herbert von Karajan.
Many happy exponential returns, Colin
Yes please keep it up Colin. You offer an invaluable daily service to lift the spirits and engage the (under used!) mind.
Happy birthday: anniversary.
Thanks to my friend Andrew Keener I have become a keen reader of your fascinating news feeds. The links are very much appreciated especially to performances like the Ormandy Vaughan Williams 3. Thank you.
Ah yes, Ormandy’s VW:

Colin, you are a good deed in a disconcerting world. For record anoraks like me, you supply mental equilibrium. For music lovers tired of commentators more concerned with sensationalism and schadenfreude than accurate and affectionate reporting, you are a breath of fresh air. Don’t stop!
Congratulations, Colin!
With thanks to the above and to those who emailed me. Colin
