Colston Hall, after Edward Colston (1636-1721), “an English merchant, philanthropist and Tory Member of Parliament who was involved in the Atlantic slave trade”, has been renamed as Bristol Beacon.

A new name for a new hall I suppose!
‘The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones’ (Shakespeare, Julius Caesar, Act 3 Scene 2).
Only the front area is new and is very smart, at least that is how it was when I was last there. The main auditorium was still in need of restoration
