On-Demand Chamber Music Concerts To Feature CSO Musicians Performing in Orchestra Hall
Series Available for Streaming on New CSOtv Video Portal Beginning October 1
CHICAGO—The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association (CSOA) announces the introduction of CSO Sessions, a new digital series of on-demand, high-definition video recordings of chamber music concerts featuring performances by Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) musicians filmed in Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center. Developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has created ongoing restrictions for live concert performances, and with artistic guidance from Music Director Riccardo Muti, the series will open with five distinct episodes premiering each Thursday in October 2020. The series premiere on Thursday, October 1 becomes available at 12:00 a.m. CDT and marks the official opening of the 2020/21 season, the Orchestra’s 130th season. The CSO Sessions series is scheduled to continue with new paid premium episodes becoming available on the new CSOtv video portal throughout the remainder of 2020. The series enables long-time audience members to remain connected to, and new listeners the opportunity to experience, the life-enriching performances of the musicians of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
