This generous selection of pieces, some as written for keyboard, others as transcribed (by Busoni, Feinberg, Kempff, and others), fit David Fray’s sensitivities and piano very nicely, music that eases the woes of the World, transporting the listener to wherever he or she would like to be, travails left behind – in the sublime/uplifting company of such as Bach, Handel and Scarlatti. Fray addresses these pieces as being special, and indeed they are, whether selected from or enjoyed as a varied and contrasting whole; whichever, a timeless treat is in store for those receiving. Cole Porter coined “It’s De-Lovely” anticipating this release. Such solace on Erato 2173275579.
