Glyndebourne’s first ever Parsifal from director Jetske Mijnssen features a cast of nearly 200 performers and orchestra performing the Wagner epic. The second new staging of the season is Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro by director Mariame Clément, whose productions are known for their wit, intelligence and musicality.

Four revivals see the return of some of Glyndebourne’s most successful recent productions: Barrie Kosky’s sensational staging of Handel’s Saul with returning stars Christopher Purves and Iestyn Davies, Annabel Arden’s lively and colourful production of Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, the madcap comedy of Richard Jones’ production of Verdi’s Falstaff, and the first revival of Damiano Michieletto’s intense Káťa Kabanová by Janáček.

Off-stage, audience members will discover a significant new exhibition celebrating the legacy of one of the most influential British stage designers of the 20th century. Oliver Messel: Designer, Maker, Influencer will take place as part of Glyndebourne Festival 2025.

The exhibition will showcase rarely-seen material, including designs and props, highlighting Messel’s distinctive and meticulous aesthetic, which left an indelible mark on Glyndebourne’s history. In celebration of Messel’s substantial and enduring influence, the exhibition will also feature new works by contemporary artists Pablo Bronstein and Luke Edward Hall.
