Herbert Blomstedt is in Berlin for concerts tonight and tomorrow with Staatskapelle Berlin, but following a recent fall in the city remains in hospital for observation if “feeling better”.
The concerts are now conducted by Christian Thielemann at very short notice: ‘Prelude & Liebestod’ from Tristan (replacing Mozart 34) and Bruckner 7.
On behalf of myself and Column readers, I send Maestro Blomstedt every best wish for a full recovery.
Having experienced one of the most uplifting concerts at the RFH recently as above I completely endorse your good wishes to the Maestro Col.
Fingers crossed.
