… Herbert von Karajan’s Berlin recordings of Haydn 103 (Drum Roll) & 104 (London) from DG’s 7-CD set of all the ‘Paris’ Symphonies (82-87) and the ‘London’ ones (93-104) – 1980-82/DDD – and really enjoyed the weight and spaciousness afforded them by HvK as well as the Berliners’ detailed and expressive responses.
