HMV ASD 2812.
With an excellent-condition LP and top equipment, the sound can be so open and natural. There is a lot on YouTube that vinyl enthusiasts have lovingly transferred. I shall gather some (& re-file previous Column posts!).

What a great idea Col.
Lead the way.
I cherish my collection begun at school over 60 years ago.
I still buy the odd LP.
I played Bloch’s America with Stokowski only last week.
Quite, Edward! I have 2000 LPs in my study, all catalogued, and the ritual of easing one out of its inner sleeve and, if necessary, washing it on the turntable of my Project VC-S2 vinyl-or-shellac cleaning machine (yes, I have some 78s too!), is a calming joy. I thus feel I’ve earned the time to play the disc, and I’m not interruptible between lowering the stylus on the outer rim and gently raising it before the rough sounds of the run-out groove. It was good to be reminded the other day of how warm and ambient Abbado’s Boston SO LP of Debussy’s Nocturnes sounds (a recording which formed a soundtrack to my university days) beside the daylight of the equivalent CD. A tonic for our impatient age!
Poetic words, Andrew, and a joyous description.
