“Founded forty years ago, the Ambronay Festival is internationally regarded for its programming of early music. It welcomes annually the finest early music conductors such as William Christie, Jordi Savall, Christophe Rousset, Philippe Herreweghe, Leonardo García Alarcón … and singers such as Patricia Petibon, Karina Gauvin, Philippe Jaroussky … The main venue is the 11th century Benedictine Abbey Notre-Dame d’Ambronay in the western foothills of the Jura Mountains, a performance space of exceptional acoustic. Isabelle studied at the Sorbonne, and completed her postgraduate studies at King’s College, London.”
ISABELLE BATTIONI has been appointed Director of the Ambronay Festival and Cultural Centre, effective January 2021.
