Juilliard String Quartet Continues its 75th Anniversary Year in 2022 with Faculty Recital at Alice Tully Hall

  
WHO:   The Juilliard String Quartet (JSQ) performs on Daniel Saidenberg Faculty Recital Series with new violist Molly Carr, marking her New York City debut with the ensemble 
WHAT:   New York premiere of [pictured] Jörg Widmann’s String Quartets No. 8 and 10 and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 13 and Grosse Fuge in B-flat Major, Op. 133
Tickets are $30, and can be purchased online or at the Lincoln Center box office. The recital will also be streamed live at Juilliard.edu.
Originally planned for November 2021 but postponed due to COVID (and again after the passing of the JSQ’s violist Roger Tapping), the JSQ will give the NY premieres of Jörg Widmann’s Quartet No. 8 and Quartet No. 10, juxtaposed with Beethoven’s late String Quartet No. 13 in B-flat major and Grosse Fuge in B-flat Major, Op. 133. This pairing of core classic repertoire and new work has been a consistent focus of the Juilliard String Quartet’s programming. Read more about the program here.
