Julian Lloyd Webber has announced a change to the line-up of his previously-announced 75th birthday concert on 14th April 2026 at Wigmore Hall.
Following the regrettable news that cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason has had to withdraw from his forthcoming series of concerts whilst he continues to recover from an injury, his place at Julian’s birthday celebration concert will now be taken by Sheku’s younger sister, sixteen year old cellist, Mariatu Kanneh-Mason, who will be making her Wigmore Hall debut at the event.
Notes Julian Lloyd Webber: “I was so sorry to hear the news of Sheku’s injury and wish him the speediest possible recovery. I am delighted that Sheku’s exceptionally talented sister Mariatu has now agreed to join us for an evening of music making in aid of the wonderful charity, Music Masters”.
During the evening’s events, Julian will make a short celebratory return to the concert platform.
His autobiography ‘Bows and Arrows’ will be released by Biteback Publishing to coincide with his birthday celebrations.
