From Alexander Campbell. “Just heard that the veteran Swedish mezzo-soprano Kerstin Meyer died today. She was just 92 – born on 3/4/28. Made several Royal Opera House appearances – notably as Dido in Les Troyens (1960), Octavian, Klytemnestra, and was a popular artist at Glyndebourne. Created many important roles – notably Spermando in Ligeti’s Grand Macabre.and Agave in Henze’s The Bassarids.”
