The Philharmonie Berlin remains closed for the month of November, but the Berliner Philharmoniker will continue to play digitally for its global audience. Following last Saturday’s performance of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Ninth Symphony, the orchestra and principal conductor Kirill Petrenko have decided to dedicate themselves further to the work of this composer. Shostakovich’s Eighth Symphony will now be performed in a live stream from an empty Philharmonie and broadcast in the Digital Concert Hall. The concert will take place on Friday 13 November at 8 pm. On Saturday 14 November, the live stream will be shown again at 1 pm.
