What an extraordinary announcement !
Is it the start-date that is extraordinary, Edward? Given he is currently conductor of Orchestre de Paris, http://www.colinscolumn.com/orchestre-de-paris-klaus-makela-conducts-mahler-9-live-webcast/, and the Oslo Phil, the five-years-hence date is to accommodate these appointments.
