A few days ago, during rehearsals for Richard Strauss’s opera, Zubin Mehta was taken poorly and admitted to hospital for tests. He was discharged yesterday in good health but needs rest. Consequently, La Scala’s music director Riccardo Chailly will now conduct Salome; the performance streams this Saturday, the 20th, 8 p.m. CET.
