… with this photo of me sporting a new-look haircut/beard-trim, short and severe, which I publicised on Thursday (July 9, search News at Ten), but, I like it, especially when a friend tells me I look younger (compare with existing portrait of my ugly mug on top of each Column page). Another friend (a bubble!) took the snap yesterday and I circulated it privately, so many apologies to chums who have already seen it. Hopefully not self-indulgent on my part, just me being whimsical, a picture-postcard preserving how I look at the mo (fifty shades of Dorian Gray) before hairy growth takes over again (the beard was a jungle, with plenty of room for a giraffe to hide in) and I need to book the hairdresser again. Soon, I expect! All the best from Crew Cut Col.

VERY well done and impressive, dear CrewCutCol! Here is a distinguished, authoratitive soul without the need to look it and one who clearly knows his stuff! (It is you, I assume??) Keep up the fine example – John
Thanks John. As of yesterday, yes it was me. Probably! CCC
Young and handsome, slimmer too. What’s not to like…? I hope to shed my Covid-19 hair-do in a week or so. Appointment booked.
Is this the new post-lockdown slimline version of your good self? I wish I had your discipline as well as the haircut. However, I am saving money on not eating out but, as there is nothing to do at home, I find I have more meals than usual – a late breakfast, then brunch followed by lunch leading to afternoon tea or a high tea before dinner and a late supper. Still, I am looking forward to my first meal out since March 13, which will be at La Chapelle in Spitalfields next Friday and as first day diners we are promised free champagne!
That’s an impressive eating schedule Michael, which would suit me. Let me know if there’s a spare chair @ La Chapelle. Colin
Hey…… not bad! Not bad at all!
Why, Colin, you’re…..beautiful!
