David Matthews has consistently shown a thorough interest in established forms in music and has contributed to their successful revival over fifty or so years For this music lovers who fail to be persuaded to the avant garde can be truly thankful.
His music has been widely recorded and access to all genres in his catalogue offer listeners many pleasures.
His web site is probably the best of all
living composers.
A gong is surely needed to recognise his overall quality as a composer of originality and substance.
