    I have only met Birtwistle once, at the RNCM a few years back. I wondered what he would be like, but he was extraordinarily nice to me, kissing me on the cheek when we parted.

      I have interviewed HB at least twice and he was very pleasant, too, as well as interesting. Good to know that John admired H’s music.
