Something to really look forward to. I assume the Schubert and Berwald Symphony projects will be for Accentus Music, for which Blomstedt has already recorded Beethoven’s Nine (Leipzig) and Mahler’s Ninth (Bamberg).
Once the coast is clear of Covid-19 restrictions, Herbert Blomstedt, now 92, has announced that he will record the Schubert Symphonies, and those by Berwald, with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
