Tonight [March 15] at The Barbican in London, contemporary composer Sir James MacMillan received an Ivors Academy Fellowship, the highest honour bestowed by the Academy. The Fellowship was presented by Tom Gray, Chair of the Ivors Academy, in recognition of Sir James’ compositional excellence, immense impact and enduring legacy in the world of music creation, at the UK premiere of MacMillan’s work Fiat Lux.
