London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Adrian Boult, 1968, Canterbury Cathedral, The Dream of Gerontius
“Timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of Sir Adrian Boult’s appointment as Principal Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, this series of five volumes celebrates the long relationship [that he] enjoyed with the Orchestra. The full 5-part physical boxset will be released in December.”
Footnote from Colin: I am really looking forward to this set.
A shame the VW6 in the first digital coupling is just the old, much reissued Decca from 1953, rather than the more interesting early 78s with the remade side for the scherzo changes. But that of course was with the LSO so cannot qualify!
