PRONG 1
Signum Classics and I have just released our Anglo-Ukrainian-Afghan Christmas refugee benefit single, in aid of the Refugee Council  ‘Sleep, Jesus, Sleep’ is my arrangement of beautiful trad. Ukrainian carol for gospel choir Soul Sanctuary, Ukrainian soprano Inna Husieva and accompanied by Afghan tabla player Sulaiman Haqpana and his wonderful thal-in-three.
Why Afghan tabla? Because since Putin commenced his ‘special operation’ in Ukraine, the many thousands of Afghan refugees that we airlifted out of Kabul in August 2021 seem to have been all but forgotten. Thousands are still waiting to be housed (often with families to one hotel room). The Refugee Council will spend the money raised helping refugees of all nationalities to find their feet in the UK. https://lnk.to/SleepJesusSleep to raise further funds for our beneficiary! Every penny from mine and Signum’s revenue will go to The Refugee Council.

As well as this single, I’ve made a more conventional choral arrangement that I’ve sent to every choral director I know (with an ‘honesty box’ policy where they have to donate £3 to our Go Fund Me page for every copy they print out) – there will be over 40 live performances in cathedrals (including Salisbury, Norwich, Liverpool Metropolitan), churches (including Royal Peculiars Westminster Abbey & St George’s Windsor), concert halls (inc. Royal Choral Society at the Royal Albert Hall) and schools (including a duet version by Kitty and Evie at Ipswich High School) all over the UK, Belfast and Philadelphia.
