This is very sad news indeed; a lovely man, whose achievements were more than deserving of a knighthood – but at least Edward Heath presented him with his first ever Gold Disc for the Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez. Julian was the first ‘guest’ to turn down live on tv Eamonn Andrews’ ‘This is Your Life’ (he told me why, but I won’t repeat it here!)
