Far too soon. By all accounts, it was an illness born with courage and clear-sightedness. An artist of intelligence, likeability and integrity has left us.

Very sad news. What was his illness, does anyone know?

Cancer, which seemed to be stable, but took a turn for the worst.

Lars Vogt, the last interview – Zsolt Bognar’s Living The Classical Life: Episode 94. “A contemplation of what is most important to us in our lives, and what to make of the gift of life.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMV5gCmnMlk

      This indeed very sad news.
He was a magician in all sorts of ways at the Sage including doing sterling service as conductor for Sibelius.

He will be much missed. His playing for Ian Bostridge’s Schubert recital last year was masterly. And there is a very affecting magazine interview from when he first became ill.
