Yes, indeed – exceptional musician and a very original composer of popular songs, but I’ll never forget Milhaud telling me of Bacharach’s Symphony (I think it was No 2), saying how good and original it was harmonically (he was a pupil of Milhaud). Seems to me it would be right up John Wilson’s street – in any event, I’d love to hear it.
