Very sad. I knew Ken quite well.
Sad to lose Kenneth Essex. Worked with him several times with Little Orchestra of London and RPO. Only once as soloist though but much appreciated his expressive contribution to Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante. He was always ready with a pithy comment from the middle of the orchestra and it was always very much to the point.
