In late 2021, London-based Russian-Israeli soprano Ilona Domnich was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune blood condition, TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) and needed urgent hospital care. Now fully recovered, Ilona hosted a fund-raising concert for Hematology and TTP clinical research and education at University College Hospital (UCLH). It took place on Saturday 5th February at Bob Boas’s house at 22 Mansfield St, London with a short welcome speech by Professor Marie Scully MBE from the team at UCLH, followed by the one hour concert. Ilona was joined by Michael Csanyi-Wills – piano and Charles Mutter – violin. The concert was Ilona’s way of expressing her immense gratitude to the team that saved her.
