Introduced by a mutual friend, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Williams, at least ten years ago, at a Christmas Eve/Day Midnight Mass. He was a charming and softly-spoken gentleman.
Very sorry to learn that Frank Williams – the Reverend Timothy Farthing in Dad’s Army – has died (on June 26) at the age of 90.
No man is an island……. any man’s death diminishes me…. I think I got that right. So sorry to say goodbye to anyone from Dad’s Army. I think almost the only one left is that ‘stupid boy’.
