Many Happy Returns to Daniel Barenboim, 80 today. Plays Wilhelm Furtwängler’s Symphonic Piano Concerto in B-minor (1924-37/1954) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic & Zubin Mehta; 1971.

Daniel Barenboim says that he will be taking “a step back from some of my performing activities, especially conducting engagements, for the coming months” due to health reasons.
