Not only socially distanced, but reduced string forces too …
True Ates, but more a detail for the eye than the ear, I suggest, regarding this individual if idiomatic performance of the always-appealing Third Suite, even if the dynamic range is somewhat restricted. Thought it worth posting nevertheless. Colin
What a great work this is; I last heard it in Birmingham and 2 days before at Covent Garden with Pappano (superb); a seat in the Gods with great sound for £6 with no booking fee or post charge: who says ROH is elitist? As a schoolboy in Manchester I heard it twice in one year: Tilson Thomas and Ray Leppard. A few years ago a fine performance from Karabits in Portsmouth: I rather hoped the BSO would record it..
I had intended to link to a previously added Suite 3 (Pappano/St Cecilia Orch), http://www.colinscolumn.com/antonio-pappano-conducts-the-santa-cecilia-orchestra-in-abudushalamus-repression-premiere-tchaikovskys-suite-no-3-rome-march-12-this-year/, but time has elapsed and the video has become unavailable. These things happen on the net. Colin
