Additional Performance of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde Added on April 4 Due to Overwhelming Demand

New York, NY (March 6, 2026)—With the upcoming seven-performance run of Yuval Sharon’s new production of Tristan und Isolde having already sold out, the Metropolitan Opera announced an additional matinee performance to take place on Saturday, April 4, at 12PM. Tickets for the additional performance go on sale on Monday, March 9, at 12PM ET.

For the additional performance, soprano Lise Davidsen will continue in the role of Isolde, and the Met’s Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will continue as the conductor. Tenor Stuart Skelton will step into the role of Tristan, and bass Stephen Milling will sing the role of King Marke. The rest of the original cast, including mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova as Brangäne and bass–baritone Tomasz Konieczny as Kurwenal, remains the same.

Skelton is one of the leading interpreters of Tristan, having previously appeared in the role at the Glyndebourne Festival, Bavarian State Opera, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and in recent concert performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Maestro Nézet-Séguin. Milling has most recently sung King Marke with the Royal Danish Opera and Staatsoper Berlin.

The creative team includes set designer Es Devlin, costume designer Clint Ramos, lighting designer John Torres, projection designer Jason H. Thompson, video designer Ruth Hogben, and choreographer Annie-B Parson.

Tickets can be purchased at metopera.org, on the Met Opera app, in person at the Met box office, or by calling 212.362.6000.
