 56 gifted singers selected!

We had a record number of 485 applications by the deadline. “It was very difficult to whittle down the number of singers to be selected for the competition, because of the huge number of promising singers of high quality”, says Soile Isokoski, jury chair. The selected applicants represent 25 different nationalities.

The orchestra for the competition will be the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Sir Mark Elder. The jury chair is the opera singer Soile Isokoski.
