The cover gives you the details (except for a quirky Fanfare as the final track) and I can enthuse that these wonderful mid-1970s’ performances, fastidiously prepared in every particular – seductive, thrilling, transporting, lit from within, searching the music’s inner recesses, rhythmically vital, delicately detailed and coloured (Marc Aubort’s expert microphone placement missing nothing), sensitive, flexible, magical, elusive, poignant -, and sound superb in this latest remastering (Clements/Walton) to create a feast for the ears and the senses. No doubt VOXNX3037CD will be followed by the rest of Skrowaczewski’s time-honored survey of Ravel’s music.
